Eat naturally. Eat mindfully. Eat for balance.
Healthy eating does not have to mean imported superfoods, extreme restriction or constantly changing diet trends. The Food Pillar focuses on adequacy, balance, moderation and diversity using foods that can fit Indian homes, cultures and budgets.
Different food groups provide different nutrients. A practical pattern can include vegetables, fruits, pulses and legumes, suitable whole grains or traditional staples, appropriate protein sources, nuts and seeds where suitable, and sensible quantities of fats.
Rather than labelling every food as “good” or “bad”, MY NEW LIFE encourages attention to frequency, quantity, preparation method and the overall pattern of eating.
The ICMR–National Institute of Nutrition Dietary Guidelines for Indians 2024 were prepared specifically for the Indian population. They emphasise varied, balanced food choices and practical approaches to nutrition across different life stages.
Food is one of the strongest everyday influences on the digestive environment. Fibre-rich plant foods and dietary variety are important foundations. Gut-microbiome testing and probiotics may have a role in selected situations, but they should not distract from the basics of a balanced diet.
MY NEW LIFE provides general healthy-food education, not therapeutic diet prescription. Diabetes, kidney disease, food allergy, severe gastrointestinal disorders, pregnancy-related nutrition and other clinical needs should be managed with qualified professional guidance.
